Supernatural was awesome last night. I love all the small things that Jared and Jensen do with their characters. Sam and Dean are just so connected. More coherent thoughts will come when I'm not high on codeine.

Currently, home sick, panicking about what's waiting at work from the past two days at the office and dying of sinus plague. On the brightside, I've spent the last two days watching all of season one of Silver Spoons. Oh, I love this show. I used to adore Ricky Schroeder. He's hotter now, but Republican, so I'll stick with my love of him on this show. And first season has Jason Bateman, which is just double fun. Good stuff.

**

So who out there watches Make me a Supermodel? I haven't seen last night's episode yet, but last week's episode. Perry is hot, but not only is he a jackass, but he's a SCARY jackass. Him on the phone with his girlfriend? Whoa. "I'm not hanging up until you tell me you love me and we'll be together forever." Um...please back off, creepy hot boy.

And, for my other Bravo show, Project Runway, Expandspoilers from Wednesday's episode... )

To those I owe betas and other things, I'm going to try to work on it this weekend. I'm sorry for so many delays. Life has been crazy and filled with lots of interesting predicaments. On the workfront, we seem to have found a temp that has a brain, so I'm hoping that when I go in next week, she's still there. On the personal front, eh, slowly but surely.

I really love when I bring up something environmental and people give me weird looks. I stopped at the supermarket on my way into work and I use the canvas reuseable bags. I picked another one up.

Cashier: So you want to use these instead?
Me: that's the point of them
Cashier: oh... (stares at me) okay then...

First, they sell the canvas bags right there in the supermarket. I can't be the first to actually USE them. Second, you'd think I was Ed Begley Jr. talking about riding a stationary bicycle to generate enough energy to toast my bread with the way this cashier was looking at me. Good Lord. It's a canvas bag not a solar-paneled car. It's something small that I can do so that trees don't have to die for the paper kind and so landfills don't have to be further overrun with plastic.

And this isn't everyone. It's mostly my mother who claims I'm a hippy zealot because I get mad at people who have to light up their whole house for Christmas (energy crisis should not mean making your house visible from Mars - and it's ugly) and yell at her all the time about how much water/energy/etc she wastes.

Dear mother of the screaming brat at the supermarket this morning,

CONTROL YOUR CHILD!

Your child should not be running up and down the aisles and plowing into people without apologizing. And don't pretend to be all offended when every other shopper shoots you dirty looks. It's because you're a HORRIBLE PARENT!

Seriously, I was what one would call a "spoiled brat" when I was little, but I did not act up in public. I was the picture of control and manners, knowing I would get my ass whooped if I dared to be bad. And it often resulted in people being like, "Wait? Your daughter isn't a monster." And honestly, this is the same way my little bit is. She can be a seven-year-old brat, but NEVER in public. She realizes that you don't ram into people and throw tantrums in a grocery store.

So please, do us all a favor and muzzle your child if you insist on taking him out in public.

No love,

Tommygirl

Happy Supernatural Day everyone! I'm looking forward to tonight's episode - Dean getting arrested, Sam trying to protect him. YAY! What would make it better? If at some point the boys were shirtless, that would be so great.

**

Pondering my Holiday wish list thing for the meme that goes around. As usual, mine will be all fandom things because otherwise I feel really weird. Not to mention, I'm beyond broke and I can't reciprocate and while that's not really the point, I still feel bad. So I stick with fandom things, which are things I can do for others as well.

I've been putting the lists I find in my memories, so if you've posted a wish list, feel free to link me to it so that I can have it. I probably won't get a chance to really look at them until December though.

So has anyone decided to write me and [livejournal.com profile] wendy that Supernatural version of It's a Wonderful Life, where Dean sees what the world would be like without him. You would be my HERO! And I would adore and love and really someone that's not me needs to write it, people. ::bats eyelashes::

Tonight's Smallville looks interesting. And by interesting I mean "battle of really hot boys." And is there anything better?

Also, new Ugly Betty and I adore that show. It just makes me happy. So good. And is The O.C. new tonight? I tivo'd last night's episode, but I wasn't sure if tonight was another new one or a repeat of last night.

So much television, so little time.

Ciao darlings!

Dear Supernatural,

I want to marry you and have like a billion babies. You make me so happy that I'd even write my own vows and TONS of "roses are red, violets are blue...oh supernatural, you rock...and I really love you" poems.

Love,

Tommygirl

Having just finished two books in the past week, I started Incendiary today during lunch, but I had to put it down. It's an interesting premise, but the author's lack of punctuation as a literary device/style is KILLING ME! I kept stopping every few lines and wondering where the hell my comma or period were. It's not a book for a grammar nazi like myself - it nearly gave me a heart attack until I put it down and decided to read something else.

And this is why I always carry two books around with me - because if one tries to kill me, I can read another.

**

I have so much writing to do and no energy with which to do it. That's a sad thing.

**

Finally, because it seems to show up quite often in various journals regarding different fandoms, I keep thinking about the use of livejournal and if a writer does need to censor/plan out what they write in order to appease their friends list/audience. I can understand how it might be sad or frustrating to reader A, who loves writer B's Gilmore girls fic, only to discover that now writer B is obsessed with Firefly instead. However, I can't get behind the idea that the readers' demands be heeded. That's right. I'm taking the John Wells' method of creating - don't give the fans what they want.

Though I don't really like to think of it like that. My feeling is that a journal or website is a person's own world to play with as they see fit. Humans can be fickle and change and be easily swayed by new pretty. It's the way things are and to waste time getting upset with someone for being a "fan" or squeeing/ranting over something that doesn't interest you, seems ridiculous to me.

I mean, there are people on my friends list that I adore that like to go on about SG-1. I have no clue what they're talking about, but rather than whining that they talk too much about it, I simply scroll on past the entry onto another one.

Maybe it all goes into some users' idea that a friends list is just that - friends - whereas, for the most part, mine is a reading list. If my reading habits change and differ from my current roster of journals, then I'm likely to remove that journal. It's not something personal. It's because everyone has the right to babble on about whatever s/he wants to and it's up to me whether I join you in your squee or ignore it.

There is no logical reason to try to sway your friends list by not-so-subtle whining in your journal about the overabundance of information on a show. Just get over it and move on. read someone else's journal instead, friend new people who still share your loves. It's just a position I can't support.
