tommygirl: (storydivagirl)
I'm working on a story and I have a question. It's based on what happened in Sin City so I shall cut just in case you haven't seen it yet... )
tommygirl: (wga - spn fans)
I'm following the Writer's Strike blog on Twitter and they linked to this article, Hollywood producers state case in full-page ads in trade papers. Yeah, I have no sympathy for Hollywood producers. Cry me a river.

My family has decided that I'm crazy and just don't understand the strike when I told them that I didn't want any dvds for Christmas unless the strike was over and that I wouldn't be buying any either. I'm also not going to any movies, which will be so hard since there are movies I want to see, but I feel like I need to do something to show my support to other writers. And really, this is all the power I have. At least, my sister is going along with me, but the rest of my family just keeps saying, "But it's about the internet." Le sigh.

**

I picked up a bagel and a Diet Coke magnum 44 oz from Wawa this morning. And I will never understand who thinks a pound of butter is necessary on one bagel. It's disgusting. I can't imagine that even the most avid butter lover wants more butter than bagel.

And this is my morning so far.

**

So let's focus on happy making. ANd that would be NBC monday night television, while we still have it.

Let's begin with Chuck...SPOILERS...including spoiler for next week's preview at the very end... )

So I really need someone that is not me to write the Ellie/Devon fic. Anything. I needs the precious.

Heroes spoilers for last night... )

**

I'm going to attempt to do some more Mix & Match drabbles today. I had planned to do more last night but got distracted by the rest of the awesome Jared & Jensen vids from the con. I love those boys. I love the relationship they seem to have - joking and affectionate. They are just so damn adorable and they just make me happy.
tommygirl: (supernatural - the hug)
It's Friday! The weekend is upon me! I don't have a long weekend like some as I have opted to work and take a floating holiday at Christmas time. Much rather have off then.

Time for some television talk:

Ugly Betty was highly enjoyable. Spoilers for last night's episode... )

And then to the show that continues to own me - this week's supernatural

Much spoilers and squee...read on if you want... )

I will have some fic suggestions to share soon. And by suggestion I mean, y'all are brilliant writers who should undertake these challenges for me. Heh.

My Mini-Nanowrimo ([livejournal.com profile] mini_nanowrimo) for yesterday. I managed to get back on track after the day before was a big fat zero!

Day: 8
Daily Word Pledge: 500
Words done today: 1,494
Words done total: 7,843

I'm up to five pages on a Supernatural Dean/Carmen fic that I'm not quite sure about yet as far as where it's heading. I did it on lunch and had hoped to write last night before tv time, but that just didn't happen.

a little excerpt:

The first time Dean met Carmen it played out like a horrible chick flick cliché. It’s one of those stories Carmen loves to share with other women, who love nothing more than the idea of a knight riding in to save the damsel. Even if the damsel could more than take care of herself and the knight didn’t really do much.

Dean stood in the corner of the bar while his buddy made small talk with some college girl with big tits. Dean officially declared the night a bust a few beers ago, but lack of better options kept him in place. As Dean nursed his beer, he debated whether sheer boredom at a bar or at his apartment was more pathetic, and when he glanced across the bar, there she was. Beautiful brown hair, gorgeous body, and killer smile, trying her best to make a graceful exit from an unwanted admirer.
tommygirl: (supernatural - my boys)
It's Friday and my boss gave us our paychecks early so I can cash it on my lunch. Woo-hoo. I'm going to stop at Borders and pick up Lance Bass' book while I'm out too. Double fun!

This totally makes up for the sinus headache earlier and the fact that I'm exhausted though I have no idea why.

**

I'm running a week behind on Ugly Betty from vacation, so last night I watched last week's episode. Is this still spoilers? )

One thing I do stay caught up on is Supernatural. I don't miss my boys unless an act of God stands in my way (or an evil dvr, like last year).

Spoilers for last night's episode! )

**

Much to do this weekend. Hopefully some writing/reading/reccing.
tommygirl: (robin hood - robin)
I didn't manage to do the drabbles today, but I did get out the [livejournal.com profile] sn_holidays match ups. That's one fannish project done. Woo-hoo. Now, of course, I need to think about my assignment for it.

Work was crazy today. First day back after vacation compounded by the fact that my co-worker was out sick. I hope she's back tomorrow because it would be nice to have a few minutes of breathing time.

**

When I got home, I watched last week's Chuck so that I'm ready for this week with Heroes. I really love and adore Chuck. If you're not watching it, I highly suggest you check it out. Cute, self-deprecating nerd becomes a spy and works with Jayne from Firefly. It's awesome and makes me very happy. I want to marry Chuck.

**

In keeping with my habit of inserting Dean Winchester into every single thing in the world, I was catching up on Reaper and started thinking: What if Dean's time is up and he's ready, but the demon is overstepped by the devil, who wants Dean to put all his skills in hunting to work just dealing with escaped demons for him.

I must be stopped. Damn you, Dean Winchester, and your hold on my brain.

Because [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 and I were already talking about creating a 'verse of fics for Supernatural based off 3.2 of this season. She understands my mad Daddy!Dean love and encourages me to write it. Heh.

**

Okay, twenty minutes to kill before viewing my Monday night television (If I start at 8:40, I don't have to deal with evil commercials) so I will try to catch up on friends list.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (joa - quotes)
So this afternoon at the end of my lunch hour, I managed to spill my large soda all over me, the chair, and the floor. It went everywhere, especially all over me to the point that I had to take a few hours of personal time in order to come home, shower and change. Decided it best not to go back for the last hour.

Then our internet went down until just about fifteen minutes ago.

So I ended up succumbing and watching the ITunes free gift of Supernatural season three premiere. Don't worry, my review won't come until tomorrow as I'm about to go to bed and wish this day away. Then get up early enough to watch SPN again.

Seriously, y'all, the cosmos is conspiring against me.
tommygirl: (supernatural - the hug)
Happy Supernatural Day!!!

We get Sam and Dean back starting tonight! I cannot wait. I've missed my boys.

Things I would love to see this season: Sam & Dean hugging, bodyswap, jersey devil, Sam & Dean hugging

Otherwise, as long as Kripke continues to give me two brothers that love each other a lot even when they're bickering and too busy saving lives, I will deal with pretty much anything. It's the reason I got into this show and it's the reason I still watch. Because Sam and Dean Winchester own me.

**

With that in mind, please keep spoilers out of my journal. I'm a girl who avoids spoilers that aren't the previews for next week and I like it that way. I'm very fortunate that my friends list has always been quite kick ass about cutting things, so I'm not too worried. But I feel like I should just remind y'all.

That said...I don't consider someone saying, "Oh my god, AWESOME" outside of cuts to be spoilers. That doesn't bother me. Spoilers to me are things that give away the actual episodes/canon of the show.

**

Sports Night Fans: Don't forget about [livejournal.com profile] sn_holidays! It's going to be lots of fun!
tommygirl: (supernatural - in my time of dying)
Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] hurrigirl!!!

I hope you have a fabulous day!

**

My goal for this afternoon/evening is to finish up my supernatural crossover fic so it can get beta'd and posted. It needs to be done so I can focus on several other bunnies/stories poking at my brain.

And I haven't forgotten birthday ficlets. This story has just taken over everything when it comes to writing. If I even think about working on something else, my brain whispers, "But you must finish crossover of doom!" And I'm honestly finding that anything else I undertake lately suffers the same problem as this current story - it's really bloody long.

Where has my short muse gone? I think I need to find a community like 15 minute ficlets or something to get back into the habit. But of course, that needs to wait until this story is done.

**

I do not understand people who don't appreciate Supernatural. I mean, to each his own, but I feel like they are missing out on something by not enjoying it. And I know that makes me weird and a tad bit obsessed (just a tad?), but it's true. I try to get them to watch. I say hot boys, brothers who love each other, banter, hot boys, good stuff...they just don't seem moved.

It's one of the many reasons I love fandom and my friends list. It's a place to find other souls just like me, who get that Supernatural is good stuff and appreciate Sam and Dean.

::stares at mood icon:: Seriously, Jared's smile just makes me happy. I can be having a crappy day and I see his smile I just have to smile too. So adorable.
tommygirl: (supernatural - the hug)
SO this Thursday night, CW is showing All Hell Breaks Loose Part 1. Is it wrong to admit that I have not watched this episode since it aired the first time? I've watched most of the other episodes, including part 2 of the finale about a billion times, but that freaking ENDING of part one just kills me. When it first aired, I was seriously so upset for a good portion of the next week thinking about Sammy and Dean and just...damn this show!

It's set up to record on my dvr because my dvr knows better than to mess with my Supernatural pass, but I wonder if I could handle it better now. I mean, some of the stuff with Andy was so good.

And really, I still think there should be more Andy goes on the road with Sam & Dean fic. Bonus points if Andy and Dean really hit it off and Sam gets all jealous and huffy, which just results in BOTH Andy and Dean mocking him a whole lot.
tommygirl: (supernatural - dean (dude))
Back at work after a long weekend. The bright side, there was something I was dreading about work that got dealt with and it turned out not to be nearly as bad as I built it up. So I'm glad it's handled. On the down side, my allergies/sinuses are killing me. Damn ragweed! And I didn't want to get up this morning, so I dawdled and now I have to go locate something for lunch.

Cry me a river, my friends.

**

I opened up my SPN crossover story and I'm beginning to panic that the thing will never finish. Right now, Dean is flying solo (which Sam totally does NOT like) and I'm finding that all my scenes are completely uneven...as I'm totally comfortable with Dean & Sam scenes, but not so much with the crossover fandom. I love the crossover fandom, but it is quite obvious in the breakdown at the moment, that I'm not as familiar with writing it. And I can't decide if that's okay for the story or not.

In the meantime, I really just want to write some Dean/Sam schmoop. Because I never tire of the schmoop in this fandom. It makes me happy for Dean & Sam to get moments of happiness, especially together.

**

I shall now attempt to catch up on friends list. Well, until it's my turn for lunch and then I must go in search of grub.

Expect a pimpage post from me later...I've been behind on those.
tommygirl: (supernatural - in my time of dying)
Thanks to the Supernatural friending meme hosted by [livejournal.com profile] wendy, I have a few new friends! I always love having new friends to chat with, especially if it involves Dean and Sam Winchester. I love those boys a whole lot. I love gen, het, wincest...I really love the schmoop because I find that the show gives me plenty of angst as it is, but if it's written well, I'll probably read it. Then cry and need to go read happy, schmoopy Sam & Dean forever fic!

**

Dean Winchester is making finishing this story very hard. He's being stubborn and overprotective and annoying everyone, especially me. Le sigh. I have made a promise to myself that I wouldn't read any fic until I finished this story...at this rate I might never have new recs for [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs.

**

Yay for three-day weekends where I have no big plans outside of watching my Heroes and Friday Night Lights dvds. Well, writing goes without saying. I hope anyway.
tommygirl: (supernatural - dean sleep)
So my current obsession is Burn Notice and like most of my obsessions over the past two years, I end up bringing it around to Dean Winchester. Because I love him much more than will ever be considered healthy. And now I really want to write fic where Dean is the spy who has been burned and he shows up at Sam's doorstep like, "mind if I crash here." And Sam is pissed and makes a bunch of bitchfaces, but of course let's him in and breathes a sigh of relief because he was always worrying about his damn brother.

I also really want to write a fic set during What Is and What Never Should Be where Sam & Dean grew up with the happy life in the dreamworld, but Dean discovers hunting and can't ignore the call to help people. And that alienates him from his family and they think he's crazy.

Of course, wanting to write and actually doing it are two very different things, especially since I have a few stories already. And I haven't even started this year's SPN Finale Choose Your Own Adventure - mostly because this year didn't really end like Devil's Trap where I had options to play with.

Maybe I should just focus on starting small. Or maybe finish up Winchesters Meet Halliwell Story Four...because [insanejournal.com profile] ladybug218 has been more than patient with me.
tommygirl: (jensen & jared)
I really did have plans for this weekend to do fun fannish things like read lots of fic, write, and get most of my beta work done ([livejournal.com profile] jellicle: I'm about halfway through the Charmed ficlets! I have not forgotten you, darling!). Instead, I've been lazy all day today and yesterday was little bit & me time.

We saw Nancy Drew, which was so much fun, and now my little bit wants to become a super sleuth of her own. She wants to borrow my books, but I'm not sure she's quite ready for them - she's not even eight yet and she's still into Ramona...but we'll see.

But yes, Emma Roberts was wonderful as Nancy and I really enjoyed the mystery. I also loved how Nancy tried to be "normal" for her dad and for herself, but in the end she had to be true to herself. And I don't know if it's a conscious choice on Emma Roberts' part or not, but she takes these roles in movies that I think are great for young girls. If you haven't seen Aquamarine, I highly recommend it. It's so cute and has a great message.

Then we went to lunch at McDonalds (she is a cheap date) and she played on the playground...and then we went to the Rag Shop because they're going out of business. I got a bunch of knitting stuff really cheap and Ellen is now undertaking cross stitching for kids. They had all these premade sets for kids for 1.00 each...she is very excited. She said she would do them at the pool like her mom does.

How is one seven year old so damn cute?

Anyone have the Nancy Drew soundtrack? I want it and so does the little bit.

**

Today I really haven't done much. I've read, watched some of season two of West Wing (my favorite season), and napped. I quite enjoy lazy days, but at the same time, I get to thinking about all the writing and reading I want to accomplish and feel like I've wasted my day away for no reason.

**

And then I was wondering, is there a book fanfiction archive type place? Sorta like Steph and I created with [livejournal.com profile] moviefanfiction but for fanfiction based on books? Because I was thinking, "Self, there really should be a community for that!" Mostly because while chatting to my best friend about Rob Thurman's books, I decided someone needs to write some Cal & Niko fic! And I always want Twilight fic! And don't forget Meg Cabot or Megan McCafferty's characters!

So yeah, does such a place exist? Or should I be my normal idiot self and make one? Any interest in such a place?

**

Tonight Hunted is on CW. I love this episode. I love Ava and how well she works with Sam. I love Dean. I worry for Dean when he thinks he's lost everything that matters. And I love Sammy and how he outsmarts Gordon and how his first thought is to just rest his hand on his brother shoulder to say, "I'm okay. I'm okay."

And really, I love this show way too much.
tommygirl: (muppets - let's be bad guys)
Will do drabbles tonight and tomorrow. Today I got caught up in the excitement of [insanejournal.com profile] voicesinmyhead. This is my first time participating in something like this, but [insanejournal.com profile] ladybug218 is holding my hand. She is my Yoda.

Plus, I get to play Dean Winchester ([insanejournal.com profile] bestbigbrother). And I love him so much, so it's fun.

Began my schmoopfest story too. Sometimes I am a little productive.
tommygirl: (supernatural - the hug)
Despite the fact that it began as a rainy Monday morning with me in severe pain, the day is going reasonably fast at the moment. ::knocks on wood::

**

In case anyone is interested, in addition to greatest journal (dastardlyspoon), I set up an insane journal as tommygirl. I friended anyone that I recognized on both accounts, but let me know if I'm missing you. I still plan to keep livejournal as my primary place unless fandom makes some mass exodus.

**

I can't get the idea of Dean Winchester as a dad out of my head. I blame this completely on [livejournal.com profile] iamentheos, who had me write some future fic for her like that. He would just be such a great dad and I find that incredibly HOT. And really, rec me to your favorite Dean-as-a-dad fics.

**

Speaking of Supernatural, in about an hour, I will close up week one of the Supernatural Hiatus Fandom Frenzy Week # 1, which asked for your favorite story/vid that was the best example of how you think of Dean and Sam.

So if you have something to share, post it in that entry. And then be on the look out for the week two question.
tommygirl: (supernatural - sam in towel)
So with summer hiatus fully underway, I've decided to do a weekly Supernatural fannish-related question that I hope y'all will answer. Basically, it will be different ways to pimp/rec/create little things throughout the summer hiatus with a new question being posed every Monday (most likely in the evenings). So y'all, this is an interactive thing and I know I can count on y'all to participate. ::bats lashes::

So I bring you...

The Supernatural Hiatus Fandom Frenzy Week # 1

What is your favorite story and/or vid that really explains how you think of Sam and Dean Winchester? (Please provide us with a link so we can all share.)

[livejournal.com profile] laylee offers up Second Sight Series by [livejournal.com profile] maygra (most stories are gen, a few are sam/dean)

[livejournal.com profile] thespatz chooses Things Sam Has Not Missed About This Life by [livejournal.com profile] cupiscent (Gen)

[livejournal.com profile] storydivagirl picks Somatic by [livejournal.com profile] stillane (Gen)
tommygirl: (storydivagirl 2)
So I kept meaning to do this all weekend, but got distracted by shinier things like watching the finale of SPN over and over.

But i can't not do the Supernatural Friday Five, so here it is, almost a week late.

The Supernatural Friday Five ([livejournal.com profile] spn_fridayfive) - Week 32

1.) Now that we're out of fresh Supernatural episodes until September, how will you spend your Supernatural-less summer?

Reading and writing lots of fic, including a new Choose Your Own Adventure because I'm glutton for punishment. Also running Schmoopfest this summer with [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy and either a SPN Crossover or Missing Scenes Challenge.

2.) Who's your favourite Supernatural villain so far, and why?

I loved the YED. He amused me, even if he always taunted my Dean.

3.) Based on what we know from season 2, how do you expect season 3 to play out?

In case people haven't seen the finale yet... )

4.) Jared's spending his summer filming 'The Christmas Cottage' and Jensen is doing a play called 'A Few Good Men'. What other sorts of roles would you like to see the boys portray?

Dude, I would love to see Jensen in a heist/comedy type movie like the Ocean's Eleven/Italian Job types. And Jared in a romantic comedy that doesn't star the Olsen twins.

5.) If you could sit down and have lunch with one Supernatural side-character (anyone other than Sam or Dean), who would it be, and what would you talk about? Mary. Can I find out how she knew the demon? And is she aware of how HOT her sons are and that they totally make out with one another?

**

SPN Warning: So I consider the finale a spoiler until this coming Friday. That's a week...and then I'm going to use my new icons that people have offered me of a certain scene. It's nothing too spoilerific, but I just wanted to give y'all a head's up.

**

Back at work today. Amidst catching up on things left on my desk, I'm trying to stay awake and ponder many bunnies 'o doom that have hijacked my brain. I really need to do some serious writing soon on these before my head explodes.

Request of the Day: What is your favorite Sam/Dean schmoop fic of all time? Rec me!
tommygirl: (supernatural - brothers wrestling)
So I have two requests based off last night's Supernatural...

Because I don't want fangirls killing me and I try not to be rude... )

**

I see Shrek 3 with the little bit this afternoon. My mother is coming along, which makes me happy because grandma Flossie will take over and spoil the little bit with the candy and snacks. That kid costs a bloody fortune sometimes.

In the meantime I shall try to catch up on the friends list.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (Default)
Happy Supernatural Day, my friends! This week has gone so slow. And God, I'm just...just...

POLL TIME!!!

[Poll #986519]

**

I actually posted Supernatural recs over at [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs last night. There are a mix of schmoop/angst, wincest/gen. Something for everyone. I even braved Fanfiction.net to find some good stories. (Though I must say that considering what that site is capable of producing in the bad fic arena, there is a lot of decent/good SPN fic over there.)

Next up are a bunch various fandom recs that don't quite make a whole bunch.
tommygirl: (jensen & jared - smiles)
So I have come up with my surefire cure for the blues after Thursday night's Supernatural (Note: I don't know spoilers, I'm just guessing it will kill me dead!)

My cure - my little bit - in cute photographic evidence... )

So I'm sure she will cheer me up.

Y'all should get yourself a little bit as cute as this.

But you can't have mine.
